DUBAI — UAE-based endurance athlete Ghani Souleymane has reached the halfway mark of his Guinness World Record attempt, completing more than 50 triathlons in support of Al Jalila Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dubai Health.

His extraordinary “T100x100” endurance challenge aims to complete 100 triathlons in 100 consecutive days – each consisting of a 2km swim, 80km cycle, and 18km run — all to raise funds for lifesaving cancer treatment for children in the UAE.

The Dubai T100 Triathlon, one of the flagship races in the global T100 series, is where Souleymane’s journey will conclude on November 16, 2025. The event brings together professional athletes and endurance enthusiasts, uniting them in a common goal of pushing human limits while contributing to humanitarian causes.

Sports for humanity

The challenge supports Al Jalila Foundation’s sports philanthropy programme, which transforms athletic achievements into acts of compassion. So far, with the support of community partners, the initiative has raised nearly Dh15 million through over 450 sporting events, directing every contribution toward patient care.

Proceeds from Souleymane’s challenge go directly to The Child Fund, an initiative of Al Jalila Foundation dedicated to providing treatment for children battling cancer. The fund offers families hope and relief as they navigate one of life’s toughest challenges.

Voices of support

Dr Amer Al Zarooni, Chief Executive Officer of Al Jalila Foundation, praised Souleymane’s efforts, saying: “We believe that sport plays a vital role in strengthening the connection between health and community, inspiring individuals to become active partners in the journey of giving. Souleymane’s experience is a powerful example of how personal dedication can serve noble humanitarian causes, reinforcing solidarity and compassion while improving the quality of life for children.”

He added: “We are confident in Souleymane’s ability to complete the challenge and earn recognition in the Guinness World Records. His achievement embodies Dubai Health’s mission to advance health for humanity.”

Global recognition

Sam Renouf, Chief Executive Officer of the Professional Triathletes Organisation, also commended the initiative: “Ghani’s T100 challenge captures the true spirit of our sport — using triathlon as a platform to inspire, unite communities, and drive meaningful change. The T100 World Tour is built on such stories, where professional racing and grassroots passion come together to create a legacy beyond the finish line.”

Souleymane expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he has received throughout his journey. “I’m proud to support Al Jalila Foundation’s mission to use sport as a force for positive change, promoting better health and compassion that define the UAE community,” he said. “With every triathlon, I hope to turn effort into hope and give children battling cancer a real chance at life.”
